AN INTERIOR PATIO NOW FULL OF LIGHT

Where once there was a neglected patio, surrounded by walls, now there is a marvelous patio full of light and life

ACHIEVED BY

Opening it up to the rest of the living space …

Converting a closed space into an oasis …

Converting a forgotten area into a sequence of spaces – a unified continuity between interior and exterior …

In other words enabling the conversion of discrete forgotten spaces into a visual sequence, around a central patio, enriching completely the concept of this living area.

HOW WAS IT DONE?

As we were working with very limited spaces closed in by four walls – we decided to open the walls and instal large chandeliers, some fixed, others mobile, with thermal bridges – and just by doing this, we already gained much.

Then we chose materials that would help to achieve an intimate, modern, living space.

Then we went for a continuous flooring in matt white limestone and in the centre of the patio we placed a hydraulic flooring – recovered from the interior – like an exterior rug.

The kitchen we linked visually with the exterior by designing the continuation of the furniture finally ending in a barbeque.

And all the patio furniture was lovingly chosen from designs by Vondom, a delightful design with sinuous, attractive curves, to reflect the sensation of well-being

FINALLY

Finally we decided to create a vertical garden on one of the walls left empty – a green waterfall of life which was visible from all points of the house

RESULT

The construction of a patio in harmony with the interior has completely transformed the living space, transforming it into an open area that links inside and out, that fills it with light, with new sensations, enriching it to the point of being a welcome oasis in the centre of a city.
